Thomas Rutherford's Biography

Thomas Rutherford was born in Florida and moved to and from Texas for college and work opportunities, until finally settling in Garland, TX in 2008.  Tom has a B.S. degree in Special Education k-12 with and ESOL certification (English Speakers of Other Languages), CPR certified, a Turner School of Business Management Certification, and the prestigious
Cooper Institute Certification for Personal Training credentials.  The Special Education degree he earned has allowed Tom to be able to teach many different types of people’s learning styles with effectiveness and with the most success for the client.

Being a life long fitness enthusiast his exercise routine started at age 12. By 14 his first weight set was bought and was used every night in his bedroom in front of pictures of Arnold and other pros. Tom excelled at track and field and weight lifting in high school as well as coaching high school track and field for four years during and after college.
Working at both Bally’s and LA fitness and training over 2000 clients, Tom has not only learned to teach people the “why” behind fitness but to also create a complete healthy lifestyle for clients; an ALL inclusive lifestyle modification is his ambition.

To graduate from Ellipsis Fitness is Tom’s goal for his clientele; only true learning and understanding can accomplish that. Tom has excelled in bodybuilding during the past two and a half years; starting from 10th in novice, to fifth in novice, to 3rd in the men’s open, to overall champion at the Heart of Texas in September 2008, and recently won the
middle weight championship at the West Texas Classic on March 28th, 2009.  His next
show will be the Ronnie Coleman Classic at the Mesquite Rodeo Conference Center on Sat. April 18, 2009 which he won the middle weight and is now nationally qualified.  He will be attending junior nationals in Chicago in mid-June 2010.
